2024–
Moved to the United States with my family to study English. I attended two language schools and built both daily communication skills and academic English proficiency. I also wrote a research paper on video production. Although I hold a teaching license in English in Japan, mastering the language has long been a personal challenge. With my family’s support, I chose to pursue a study abroad. Taking on new challenges is the only way to move forward in life. Once this meaningful period of learning English comes to an end, I plan to return to my career in video production, in a new and evolving form.

Served as an instructor in video production at the Graduate School of the University of Tsukuba, a national university in Japan. I led practical training covering fundamental structure planning, filming, and editing, supporting the production work of approximately 60 graduate students. My skills in information organization and visualization as a television director were highly valuable in preparing class slides and teaching materials. Through this experience, I gained confidence that the techniques and knowledge of video production can make a meaningful contribution to education.

2023–2022
While living in Okinawa, the birthplace of karate, I spent one year producing instructional karate videos. In collaboration with a travel agency specializing in Japanese martial arts content, I created about 50 karate videos for an international audience. The channel initially had fewer than 3,000 subscribers, but through consistent production, it has now grown to over 100,000. Through this project, I developed the skills to visually express the refined etiquette, mindset, and spirit of Japanese martial arts, which are admired around the world.

Began working independently as a video director under the name RONIN. I produced corporate videos and educational content, handling structure, direction, filming, and editing, and managing the entire production process from start to finish. My experience in a small-team production environment at a local TV station forms the foundation of my working style. I create documentary-style pieces that capture the atmosphere and personality of the subjects while building their stories.

I worked as a director in local broadcasting in Japan, producing a wide range of video content. At a production company, I created programs commissioned by TV stations, covering genres such as documentaries, leisure features, and lifestyle information. My foundation is a fast, cohesive production style built on small teams. By staying attentive to society and engaging closely with subjects, I learned that meaningful themes naturally emerge — a core philosophy I developed during this period. I am capable of planning, structuring, filming, and editing independently.

I run a YouTube channel called TPS Films, which provides tutorial content for beginners and those just starting out in video production. As more people began creating videos around 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the channel grew in subscribers, and I received instructional and production requests from many companies. All videos are in Japanese.
